The City of Cambridge is a part of the Regional Municipality of Waterloo, located at the confluence of the Grand and Speed rivers. The city had a population of 129,920 as of the 2016 census. Aside from the city's sustainability action plan, they have prepared a Climate Adaptation Plan to take action. The purpose of climate adaptation planning is to identify where existing and planned buildings, infrastructure, programs, and services could be vulnerable to future change.

Pfenning's Organic Vegetables has been growing organically in New Hamburg, ON since 1981. We grow close to 40 different crops on our own farm, and work with over 20 other local growers to pack and distribute their crops. While we are not open to the public, we offer a weekly foodbox pickup for those wishing to support the farm directly. Alternatively, you can find us in stores across Ontario! Although our philosophy is "local first", our import program is an important piece of our business's economic and social sustainability — allowing us to provide meaningful employment and a full selection of organic fruits and vegetables year-round. The Township of North Dumfries is a rural township and part of the Regional Municipality of Waterloo, it is also the most affordable municipality within the Waterloo Region. North Dumfries is a short distance to the 401 Highway to access urban economic centres, although the town provides an escape from the busy life and a safe environment for young families. The town has committed a four year (2018 – 2022) Term of Council, the following Advisory Committees have been established: Planning & Sustainable Development Advisory Committee, Heritage Advisory Committee, Leisure & Lifestyle Advisory Committee, Economic Development Advisory Committee, Council has also established an Ad-Hoc Advisory Committee being the Downtown Ayr: Streetscape and Public Lands Advisory Committee.

The Township of Wellesley is the rural, north-western township of the Regional Municipality of Waterloo. It encompasses 277.79 km and had a population of 11,260 in the Canada 2016 Census.

Waterloo Brewing Ltd. is Ontario's largest Canadian-owned brewery. The Company is a regional brewer of award-winning premium quality and value beers and is officially certified under the Global Food Safety Standard, one of the highest and most internationally recognized standards for safe food production. Founded in 1984, Waterloo Brewing was the first craft brewery to start up in Ontario and is credited with pioneering the present-day craft brewing renaissance in Canada. Waterloo Brewing has complemented its Waterloo premium craft beers with the popular Laker brand. In 2011, Waterloo Brewing purchased the Canadian rights to Seagram Coolers and in 2015, secured the exclusive Canadian rights to both LandShark® and Margaritaville®. In addition, Waterloo Brewing utilizes its leading-edge brewing, blending, and packaging capabilities to provide an extensive array of contract manufacturing services in beer, coolers, and ciders. Demonstrating a strong commitment to our planet and environmental sustainability, Waterloo Brewing is investing in new eco-friendly packaging, replacing is "single use" plastic shrink wrap for "recyclable" cardboard packaging on Seagram Island Time Anytime 6x355ml can packs, Seagram Island Time Coconut Lime 6x355ml can packs and LandShark Lager 6x473ml can packs. Consistent with its long-term objectives, Waterloo Brewing continues to find opportunities to manage and reduce their carbon footprint, waste diversion and water footprint.

Waterloo Region Community Foundation (WRCF) enables people, companies, and organizations to do more good, they connect people who care to causes that matter. WRCF does this by making it easy for Donors and Fundholders to give and for charities to receive money. When you make a donation to WRCF, they invest that gift into a permanent endowment fund which generates income that is then distributed through grants and impact investments to support a broad range of charitable causes within the local community. Today’s YNCU is the result of many mergers over the years with credit unions whose histories stretch back to the 1940s. Most recently, YNCU expanded our geographic footprint by extending the neighbourhood to northern Ontario with the merger in 2016 with Community First Credit Union, based in Sault Ste. Marie and Timmins. Credit unions offer the same products and services as the big banks and do so while keeping your money local and investing it back into the community.
