About our program
Diverting your organics not only helps to lower your landfill waste, it can reduce your carbon footprint, help to make sustainability top of mind for your team, and is one step towards integrating responsible management practices into your operations.
SWR has created a collaborative procurement program to support businesses, organizations, and multi-unit residential locations to take organic waste out of landfill. This program offers:

- Food rescue options to bring surplus edible food to those in need
- Organics collection tailored to your business needs
- Staff training support to help with making the process easy
- Reporting and recognition to help you leverage your work with customers and clients
All at competitive rates.
Benefits of our program
Organics diversion can be purchased through most waste haulers, but SWR strives to bring more value to businesses by supporting them in their efforts to reduce impact from waste. This includes:

- Onsite and online staff training and waste audits to make it easier for you to implement organics diversion practices
- Bin swap every pick up to keep down smell concerns, mess, pests and any other issues
- Improper sorting is managed at the processing plant, so all organics can still be diverted
- Waste to energy processing, with the by-product becoming sterilized fertilizer for local farms
- Waste processing in southwestern Ontario, reducing emissions from waste transportation
