Our Microforests
Pilot Project Fall 2021
We launched our microforest project in the fall of 2021, with the successful planting of two sites in collaboration with the Ages Foundation, Waterloo Region District School Board, Greenway Chaplin Community Centre, Grand River Conservation Authority, and the City of Cambridge. We also had a great group of employees from GrandBridge Energy and EY Waterloo who volunteered to join us and plant well over 100 trees. Schools offer a great space to plant microforests—they’re centrally located in communities, the trees provide shade and cooling for students, and they can be used for educational purposes. We’re looking forward to matching sponsors to sites and hosting employee volunteer days for planting at many other schools in the region!
