Sustainable Waterloo Region hires our volunteers using the process below to ensure that there is a strong fit between the individual, the role and the organization:
Application:
- Please apply to a specific position*
- Send an email with your current resume and cover letter to Human Resources at recruitment@sustainablewr.ca letting us know why you’re interested in volunteering with us and how the position you’ve selected aligns with your goals for volunteering
- Include the role title and your name in the subject line

Interview:
Candidates that seem to be a good fit for the role, will be asked to join us for an interview with the hiring Functional Area Manager and a member of our HR Team. Our interviews focus on ensuring that potential volunteers fit with our culture and that we’re matching a volunteer with the right role to meet their goals and ours.
* Due to the nature of our volunteer roles we ask that you apply to a specific posted position (or multiple, if applicable) as opposed to submitting a general expression of interest. That said, we are always happy to answer any questions you have!
