The SWR team includes a mix of staff, volunteers, and interns, with a wide range of experience and expertise. We are incredibly grateful to have such an enthusiastic, passionate and talented group working toward our collective mission. We have around 10 permanent staff members who are helped by up to 80 volunteers from the community each year.
Strategy & Governance
Tova Davidson, Executive Director
Tova leads our organization under the Board of Directors, and is responsible for developing our strategic direction, supporting team members, and building key relationships throughout Waterloo Region. She brings her experience in public relations and communications to creatively approach sustainability opportunities. Paired with her business background, Tova is uniquely qualified to collaborate with organizations in Waterloo Region to help drive change locally and provincially. A former recipient of the City of Guelph Mayor’s Award of Excellence and member of the Guelph Mercury’s Top 40 Under 40, Tova always leads by example while inspiring others to do the same.

Taginder Clair, Business Division Manager
Taginder runs the day-to-day operations at SWR. Her business background, combined with her training in volunteer management and education, allow our organization to reach its full potential!

Kyra Chrisholm, ClimateActionWR Plan Manager
Kyra facilitates the ClimateActionWR partnership between SWR, Reep Green Solutions, and the Region of Waterloo, along with area municipalities, local energy utilities, and the community at large. Kyra is responsible for developing relationships between partners, guiding and executing project planning, and managing external communication.

Liz Dirksen, Communications Manager
Liz leads the volunteer communications team and guides the creation and execution of our marketing and communications strategy. Her role combines both her experience with communications and her passion for sustainability, and she is pivotal in our mission to engage the community and raise our profile in Waterloo Region.

Erika Malich, DriveZero Program Manager
Events & Microforest
Emma Fox, Community Engagement Manager
Emma leads the planning and execution of events across our programs to educate, support and celebrate our members and the impact of our programs. She also manages our Microforest Program which involves the planting of hundreds of trees a year! As if that wasn’t enough, she’s also the Manager of Culture of Sustainability for the evolv1 building! Emma brings a wealth of experience from her background in the non-profit sector, and she is currently pursuing a Masters of Environment and Business.
Ashton Romany, Finance Manager
Ashton provides oversight and guidance for our annual budget and supports all of our financial reporting. This includes reporting on fiscal performance, budget preparation and presentation for board approval, and preparation of the annual financial report for board members and external stakeholders.

Angel connects our organization to essential funding programs and helps coordinate our sponsorship program. He also oversees funder recognition and requirement fulfillment.

During her career, Yvonne has developed exceptional process, implementation, and management best practices in a variety of fields, including advanced manufacturing and technology.
