AET group provides environmental consulting, auditing, and scientific services to the built and natural environments in their 13 core practice areas.
AET is committed to reaching Net Zero Carbon by 2030 across all of their operations through a variety of sustainability initiatives. This includes retrofitting their Kitchener office to a net zero carbon building, installing dual-head EV charging stations, fleet electrification, and engaging staff in internal sustainability programs. They are also focused on waste reduction, such as their nitrile glove recycling program, and have made the transition off natural gas with a cold climate heat pump and electric water heater. Additionally, they have enhanced onsite stormwater management and promote natural landscapes on-site.
Their future projects include becoming a net energy positive building with solar panels, planting 30,000 trees by 2030 through their 1% for the Trees Program, and further fleet electrification. Through these efforts, they are working toward a greener future for all and prove that they are a trusted partner for sustainable solutions that fully embodies sustainability in all decisions, actions and operations.
Through the Impact Network, AET has gained access to valuable learning opportunities, resources, and events that foster collaboration, networking, and knowledge-sharing within the sustainable community. They have benefited from connections with industry leaders and have been able to access funding for green
initiatives while also actively participating in peer-to-peer working groups. AET has also been engaged with SWR through co-hosting a sustainability reporting event and co-sponsoring SWR’s microforests!
