Explore Waterloo Region joins the Impact Network!

[June 2024] Explore Waterloo Region has joined Sustainable Waterloo Region’s Impact Network as a new partner. Founded in 2007, Explore Waterloo Region is the destination marketing organization for the Region of Waterloo, promoting it as a dynamic, year-round destination for visitors.

As a member-based, non-profit organization, Explore Waterloo Region enhances the community’s image as an attractive travel destination and a vibrant place to live and work. It collaborates with partners to promote local festivals, events, hotels, attractions, restaurants, and businesses, and to develop new offerings.

Sustainable Waterloo Region and Explore Waterloo Region are collaborating to promote sustainability in the business event, sport, group tour, and leisure sectors in the Waterloo Region. This partnership aims to foster a culture of sustainability, support emissions reduction through measurement and reporting, and provide resources to build capacity and expand sustainability knowledge among partners.

As a partner and member, they become connected to an extensive network of like-minded organizations to share and learn best practices. Members of our network have invested in better understanding the impacts of their operations on environmental sustainability. They use program resources to build a culture of sustainability among employees and to engage employees as sustainability advocates while also adapting policy and reducing impact through realistic sustainability targets.
