Sustainable Waterloo Region (SWR) is pleased to announce that Novocol Pharma has joined the Impact Network as an Observing Organization! As a member, Novocol gains access to an extensive member network of organizations that share and learn sustainability best practices.
Our network helps members improve their understanding of the impact of their operations and gives them access to our program resources. The membership helps build a culture of sustainability among the organization’s employees, and they will learn strategies to engage employees as sustainability advocates that set and achieve realistic sustainability targets.
“The addition of Novocol Pharma to the SWR network is a significant milestone in our journey to a low carbon future. This major employer in Waterloo region is demonstrating that climate change is an important consideration to the entire corporate community and we are so thrilled to be able to bring resources and support that help them to make meaningful steps to reduce their impact on the environment, said Tova Davidson, Executive Director of Sustainable Waterloo Region.
Novocol is a local pharmaceutical company that manufactures dental anesthetic and specialty injectables for patient self-administration. Based in Cambridge, Ontario, they are now one of the Regional Sustainability Initiative’s largest members with over 500 employees. The company is a proud member of the Septodont Group, a family-owned company based in France. Novocol has a long history of excellence in quality manufacturing and ethical business conduct. We are thrilled to be working with them to measure and improve their sustainable practices.
Novocol Pharma is excited to join the SWR network and contribute to carbon reduction efforts in the region. Novocol is committed to reducing the environmental impact of its industrial operations and transitioning to an environmentally sustainable organization. As we expand our biomanufacturing operations in Cambridge, Novocol aims to achieve LEED certification of our expansion facility while continuing to assess and reduce GHG emissions, energy and water consumption and improve waste management from existing facilities, equipment, and processes. We look forward to participating in the SWR network.
We are thrilled to welcome our first member organization from the pharmaceutical industry, and look forward to working and learning together!
