Faces of SWR – Janet Kimantas
February 17, 2017 | Sustainable Waterloo Region
Janet Kimantas joined SWR because it’s an organization that depends on and values its volunteers as much as its staff. She was motivated to get involved because she was looking for a challenge that would also be rewarding. Janet believes that what you get out of an experience is based on your contribution, and she has definitely contributed a lot to SWR!
Janet has an undergraduate and a graduate degree in Environmental Studies from the University of Waterloo. She is also educated in studio art from the Ontario College of Art (now OCADU) and the University of Guelph. Janet enjoys using her art to share ideas about social/environmental issues.
At SWR, Janet works with the Evolv1 team. Her passion and dedication are evident through her contributions to various roles within this team including academic research, communications, and funding. She recently went above and beyond by writing a communications plan for the entire Evolv1 project. We appreciate Janet’s wide range of contributions to SWR and the Evolv1 team, and her willingness to throw all of her effort into her work. Thank you for being part of the team, Janet!
