This week has been National Volunteer Week, and we here at Sustainable Waterloo Region want to send out an extra special thank you to the amazing volunteer team that is the foundation of our organization.
We recently did a volunteer satisfaction survey and were thrilled to see that 87% of our volunteers are very proud to volunteer for SWR and 93% are very supportive of our direction as an organization. For more results check out our website.
Our volunteers are critical to the success of our programs, and we could not do it without them, so this year the staff team wrote a poem to tell them how much we appreciate them:

How much we love the things you do!
From fun and funny intro questions
To million dollar great suggestions
That keep programs improving
And reduction targets moving
To each and every one of you
We tip our hats for all you do…
Marketing makes our content glow
While PR keeps our community in the know
Policy defines our public position
And strategy keeps us aligned with our mission
HR builds our team’s capacity
ClimateAction shapes our community’s audacity
While Finance makes sure we operate in the black
The RCI team keeps businesses on track
So thank you to the crew that ROCKS
Your commitment really knocks off our socks
You are the best, that much is true
