It’s finally here! I’d like to welcome you to Sustainable Waterloo Region’s most recent contribution to the world of social media – our Team Blog. Having dedicated months to putting together the business plan and getting everything in place along with the incredible and immeasurable help of CuteGecko, to say I’m excited to see this project come to fruition is a bit of an understatement.

Thank you so much for stopping by to check it out! In contributing to this blog, our aim is to strive to craft posts that are insightful, informative and a pleasure to read. Personally, as the first few posts come in, I am exceptionally excited to see not only how our team has embraced this initiative but also how frank and genuine their posts are.

One of the primary goals of this blog is to give you, the public in Waterloo Region and beyond, a sense and an introduction to the team behind Sustainable Waterloo Region – the people who are driving the success of the organization from behind the scenes. But this is also a sneak peek into what makes the organization what it is. Sustainable Waterloo Region is so much more than just a place where individuals come to put in a few hours of volunteer work each week. We are, rather, a community of likeminded individuals with a strong passion for environmental sustainability, and more importantly, a group of good friends.

I’m so thrilled to share this with all of you. As with all new initiatives, this blog is a work in progress; a great starting point. But I’m also very excited to hear your feedback – what you like about the blog, what you’re not crazy about and how we might be able to improve it. I’d also love to see our readers engage with and get involved in the discussion we’re hoping to foster here.

Be sure to look around! There’s a great introductory post from our Executive Director, Mike Morrice that you should definitely check out. We’ll be posting new content once or twice a week, so be sure to come back soon! I encourage you to post comments and send your feedback to blog@sustainablewr.ca and I can’t wait to hear from you!

Thanks for visiting!
