HVAC Upgrade: Designed and installed an air exchange system between the warehouse and office to reduce air cooling loads in summer and heating in winter. This system has reduced cooling and heating needs by about 20% and has a one-year return on investment.
Energy and Packaging Reductions: Completed a major retrofit at their office with ultra-efficient LED lights, achieving an energy usage reduction of close to 40%. Additionally installed an air exchange system to reduce summer cooling energy by almost 90%.
Other Projects and Partnerships
Grosche Safe Water Project: A portion of the sale of each Grosche product funds the Safe Water Project that creates at least 5 days of safe drinking water for people in need located in developing countries throughout the world.
Trees for Future Partnership: Partnered with Trees For The Future to fund the planting of 5000 Trees in Haiti. Haiti has been seriously negatively impacted by deforestation and the subsequent poverty that has followed. Through this project, topsoil can be rejuvenated and will enable people to farm in the rich, renewed soil.
Landfill Waste Diversion: Weighs and measures the waste produced in their facility on a weekly basis and have a goal to maintain a weekly target of a 75% waste diversion. Grosche regularly achieves above 70% and are continually working to improve further.
Green Teams: Grosche has a team of 9-10 people and discuss sustainability on a weekly basis in their team meetings. This includes discussions on safe water project, energy, waste, community involvement, recycling, etc.
