Our Logo

In the fall of 2011, Sustainable Waterloo Region launched its new name and logo to better reflect the mission and vision of the organization. While the name change from Sustainable Waterloo to Sustainable Waterloo Region underscores the importance of the regional aspect of our work, the new logo visually encapsulates the core elements of who we are.

The Sustainable Waterloo Region logo uses the same font as our original logo to recognize the significance of our roots. The blue and green cyclical arrow represents the organization’s holistic view of sustainability, which goes beyond greenhouse gas reductions.  And the emphasis on “able” reflects our optimism for what Waterloo Region can achieve.

This evolution of our brand reflects a milestone in our growth as an organization. As our roots connect us to the enthusiasm of our beginnings, and our greater view of sustainability provides new opportunities to realize our vision – we feel it is our ability to work collaboratively with organizations across the Region that will enable our collective success.
