Our vision is for a thriving Waterloo Region with a healthy environment and a vibrant economy.

Collaboration

Internally and externally, we recognize the value of synergistic thinking and action. Treating one another with respect, recognizing our role as one of a number of progressive social innovators in Waterloo Region, and developing partnerships to increase the impact of all parties involved allows us to foster an environment focused on positive mutual benefit and multi-sectoral problem solving.

Relationships

We prioritize long-term relationship building with both external and internal stakeholders. Externally, we work diligently to grow an enduring, vibrant community of organizations working sustainability into their operational decision-making. Internally, we believe it’s important that working together is at once fun, challenging and rewarding.

Passion for Sustainability

Driven by the strong support of volunteers, we are united by a passion for sustainability, a results-based focus, and a drive to see tangible progress against our mission. We are constantly looking for ways to improve, we work persistently to meet our goals and we are continually reassessing how to better serve member organizations.

Leadership

Our roots stem from the belief that local, community-based leadership is a means for change and a critical driver in the shift towards increased global environmental sustainability.

Integrity

We take our role as a not-for-profit, as a third-party organization offering recognition, and as a community member very seriously. Therefore, we strongly adhere to ethical decision-making, organizational transparency, and accountability both to one another and to external stakeholders.
